Alright, let’s cut to the chase: you’re on the hunt for the best Elden Ring mods because, let’s face it, you’ve already beaten the game more times than you can count, or maybe you’re just looking to spice things up without turning your game into a weird anime crossover.
We’ve been there, so we spent a questionable amount of time modding the heck out of Elden Ring, from armor that makes you look like a fantasy runway model to weapons that’d make even Guts from Berserk go hollow. No shady 18+ stuff, let’s keep it classy.
All of the Elden Ring mods recommended below have personally been installed and tested by us. Here’s some quick links to jump to what you want:
- Armor mods
- Armor upscaling and quality mods
- Weapon mods
- Gameplay mods
- CO-OP mods
- We said no 18+ mods, you maidenless Tarnished!
Most of the mod pages have installation instructions. Some gameplay changing Elden Ring mods are more complex than others. If you are interested, we have a separate step-by-step guide on how to install simple versions of the mods (like armor and weapons), that even a person who never installed a mod in their life can easily follow. Before you check out the mods, I strongly recommend giving it a read: how to install Elden Ring mods.
Note from the author
So, strap on, Tarnished, I am Wolf, and I will be your guide through the best Elden Ring mods, starting with:
Our favorite Elden Ring armor mods
Now I know what you might be thinking, buddy, this game already has a lot of great armor options, covering every possible archetype and with plenty of outlandish options to boot thrown in there, why would I ever need to download armor mods?
We were of the same mind, but the quality of these modders’ works made us quickly change our minds. From blasts to the past of FromSoftware games to modifying things that are already in the game and bringing out some of the most beloved and unique armors from other fantasy franchises that we love.
1. Berserk, Guts Armor mod (Bonus Sword)
Download link: Nexus mods
What is the best way to honor Kentaro Miura, the deceased creator of the famous manga series Berserk that Elden Ring’s creators took heavy inspirations from, then this absolute beast of a cursed berserker armor? As a bonus, you will get a Dragon Slayer colossal sword as well.
Mod author M P L even went out of their way to add different options (like different helmet variations, alternate textures for a Dragon Slayer) to satisfy almost everyone’s needs, so we are not surprised at all that this is the most downloaded mod in the armor category.
Most mods replace armors already in the game but this mod adds the whole new armor set that you can get from Twin Maiden Husks in Roundhouse Table. Sword replaces Greatsword found here: Map Link.
Dark souls armors as Elden Ring mods
Are you a Dark Souls veteran? Were you ever under the impression that while great, Elden Ring’s armors just don’t quite reach the quality of your favorite designs from all the previous games? Say no more, we got you covered with just some of the many Dark Souls series armor sets options that you can dig out on the page.
2. DS3 starting knight armor mod
Download link: Nexus mods
The first armor you get when picking a knight class and the only armor I wore during my DS3 playthrough (insert pics). All the sets are made by mod author KRDCD, and this armor set by default replaces Blood hound knight set set that you can find in Gelmir Hero Grave , dropping from the Bloodhound Knight guarding a chest: Map Link.
3. Faraam Knight armor mod
Download link: Nexus mods
Featured in Dark Souls 2 trailer footage, it is one of the beloved sets from the series and one of our personal favorites.
Made by the same author, this set replaces the Carian Knight Set that you can find hidden off the path in Raya Lucaria Academy: Map Link
4. Fallen Knight set
Download link: Nexus mods
This set is a great option if you are looking for a Rogue/Ranger-like gritty weathered look (insert pics). Replaces the Scaled Armor Set that drops from Old Knight Istvan. You can invade him as a part of your first assassination quest found at the Volcano Manor: Map Link.
5. Fire Keeper set
Download link: Nexus mods
If you don’t like armored knights and are more into mages, and you really want to be a pyromancer and “Keeper of Fire,” we got you covered with this iconic set worn by the Firekeeper in Dark Souls 3 (insert pics).
This armor replaces a couple of parts from different armor sets:
- Fire Keeper Head to Aristocrat Headband Wiki Link
- Godskin Apostle Bracelets – Fire Keeper Gloves Wiki Link
- Prophet Trousers – Fire Keeper Skirt Wiki Link
- Traveling Maiden Robe – Fire Keeper Robe Wiki Link
6. Wolf Knight armor set
Download link: Nexus mods
The best way to complete the list is this amazing armor set from a tragic figure Artorias, who was a boss in Dark Souls 1 DLC. This armor replaces Blaidd’s Set (spoiler alert), dropped after defeating Blaidd at the end of Rannis’ questline: Map Link. Black Wolf Mask comes separate and can be found here: Map Link.
Lord of the Rings sets as Elden Ring mods
If you’re a fan of the Lord of the Rings (the old one, not the new one… nobody likes the new one), but you always thought that those dirty hobbits, man, and elves should lose and the Dark Lord should prevail, you might want to check out the next 2 armor sets to help you complete your domination of Middle… I mean, Lands Between.
7. Sauron’s armor set
Download link: Nexus mods
The armor from the Dark Lord himself in his prime days, made complete by his mace for maximum immersion (insert pic). This armor replaces the Gelmir Knight Set found in Gelmir Hero’s Grave in a chest guarded by Bloodhound Knight: Map Link.
8. Witch King’s armor set
Download link: Nexus mods
Not a Dark Lord himself, but his first mate is nothing to joke about. This armor replaces Night’s Cavalry Set set that you can get from beating 2 night riders, during nighttime in the hidden late area of the game: Map Link.
Game armor upscaling and variant Elden Ring mods
What if you really like the armors that are already in the game but you don’t like the simple customization options and hope you could do more than remove the cloak? Here are some mods that modify already existing armors in the game that we found to be the most inspired:
9. Carian Knight Set – Variants
Download link: Nexus mods
This is a great-looking armor mod for battle mages, and this mod lets you modify things like gorget, tabard, and tassets, creating a look that you always wanted: Wiki link.
10. Royal Knight Armor
Download link: Nexus mods
I never liked the silly leg plates on this armor. This Elden Ring mod takes care of that and makes the whole armor look much more sleek: Wiki link.
11. Banished Knight armor variant
Download link: Nexus mods
One of my favorite sets in the game is getting some love with this mod, giving you an option to remove the fur: Wiki link.
12. Chest Crest OFF
Download link: Nexus mods
Did you always hate those oversized crests on knight armor sets? This mod has you covered by simply getting rid of them: Wiki link (it dose the same thing for every variation)
In conclusion, modding is a great way to add some extra fun and excitement to any game, including Elden Ring. We hope these mods will give you hours of fun before we get the next content drop for the game.
Best weapon mods in Elden Ring
Tarnished, did you test all the bonk tools that the game gives you and are now sadly sitting in the corner of your room, because bonking monsters with the same old stuff doesn’t excite you anymore?
Worry not, we might just have a fix for that. These Elden Ring mods are going to put a new coat of paint over your weapons so you can get up, dust off, and go back into bonking stuff in no time.
13. God of War trio
13.1. Blades of Chaos
Download link: Nexus mods
What’s more iconic than cursed blades that are chained to Kratos’ arms by the former god of war Ares himself?
In a brilliant move, the mod author made these weapons replace whips so their animations are as close to God of War games themselves as they could possibly get.
You can replace 2 different whips with this mod:
- Giant Red Braid obtained by trading Remembrance of the Fire Giant with Enia after killing a fire giant boss: Map Link.
- Hoslow’s Petal Whip , dropped by Juno Hoslow as part of the final contract for the Volcano Manor Questline: Map Link.
13.2. Mjolnir
Download link: Nexus mods
Also known as Thor’s hammer (as most can’t pronounce Mew maw… see what I mean?), and the fact that this replaces one of the best hammers in the game with an amazing weapon art, this great bonker will send your enemies flying in no time.
Replaces Marika’s Hammer, obtainable by trading Elden Remembrance with Enia at Roundtable Hold.
13.3. Leviathan Axe
Download link: Nexus mods
Between an option with glowy runes, semi glowy runes, or just a clean normal look… The choice is yours provided by this amazing mod author. Whatever you choose, this HQ mod will get you to level up some axes at Master Hewg.
Replaces Highland Axe, looted off a corpse of the Grafted Scion in Stormveil Castle: Map Link
14. Lord of the Rings Arsenal
Back to our favorite franchise. If you ever dreamed about wielding weapons from our heroes (and some baddies thrown in there), your dreams are about to come true.
Download link: Nexus mods
In this weapon pack, you will get several weapons from LOTR. We will begin with the sword of the new king.

14.2. King Theoden’s Sword
Replaces Broadsword, which can be bought from the Nomadic Merchant. He is located southeast of Coastal Cave: Map Link.

16. Elden Ring Weapon Change Mods
These Elden Ring mods are for you simple chads who would like to change a couple of things about the weapons that are already in the game. Maybe you don’t like the color, or you find some swords too short.
Would you like some more style and “cool factor” added to some of them and enhance the ashes of war of others to make them more potent.
We will point you to a few examples of mods that edit the things described above, and then you can continue exploring the rest and find things that suit you the most.
16.1. Brass Shield color changes
Download link: Nexus mods
Here is a simple color change for one of the best medium shields in the game. If you don’t want that golden glow and are trying to make it fit your gray or dark fashion, this is a mod for you. Wiki Link
16.2. Reversed Parrying Dagger
Download link: Nexus mods
This mod makes your character hold your Parrying Dagger backwards. Simple and cool.
16.3. Longer weapons
Download link: Nexus mods
This Elden Ring mod just extends the length of a bunch of weapons. And this is not only for cosmetic purposes; it will increase the range of your hitbox, too. Amazing, right?
It replaces the majority of weapons, so much so that the mod author has a list of the weapons that were not replaced instead of ones that were. (If you are installing this mod, just note that it won’t be compatible with the above Elden Ring mods that change the same weapons).
16.4. Weapon Unbound
Download link: Nexus mods
We will leave the link to GAMMANguyener user page on Nexus and there you will find 3 weapons with suber buffed Ashes of War. You can choose an all-in-one mod or pick the weapons you want to modify.
Assuming you’re tired of getting your ass whooped by bosses, this mod will make whooping them back a breeze. The weapons changed are Dragon Greatclaw, Sword of Night and Flame and Ruins Greatsword .
Modding is a great way to add some extra fun and excitement to any game. We hope you have fun with the Elden Ring weapon mods we provided here for you.

CO-OP Mods
Let’s be honest guys, there is only one CO-OP mod you truly need: Seamless CO-OP. But, just in case new CO-OP Elden Rings mods appear in the meanwhile, we organized this separate category.
22. Seamless COOP mod
Download link: Nexus Mods
In essence, this mod enables you to play the game with your friends without any limitations from start to finish. As a result, it becomes conceivable to complete the entire game, including the tutorial and final boss, in a single cooperative playthrough.
Here as some of the features that are different in this mod from vanilla coop experience:
- If a player dies, they will respawn in the same world at the last bonfire they rested at. The session will not be terminated.
- Defeating enemy bosses and clearing areas no longer sends cooperators home.
- All fog walls/barriers that usually restrict the multiplayer zone are gone.
- All players can use torrent in a session together.
- All map waypoints will synchronize, allowing you to navigate the world in a group easier.
- When one player rests at a Site of Grace, the world state will reset for all players.
- Game progression events completed in online play progress the game in your own world.
- Varre’s questline no longer needs invasions to progress.
- You can play with 5 other players in the open world.
Compared to normal Elden Ring CO-OP this mod has quality of life features that we are gonna list below:
- A separate executable file that disables the Easy anti-cheat feature, which resolves the problem of frequent disconnections causing packet loss and bugs in Elden Ring’s implementation.
- With the new connection system, your friends can now join you from any location in the world. This means that if you experience disconnection, you can easily and swiftly re-join the game and resume from where you stopped.
Counter Balance:
Playing as 2 people makes game a lot easier so the mod author has made some core changes to the combat:
- To maintain the game’s difficulty level, extra enemy scaling tiers have been introduced as you are allowed to play with up to 5 phantoms, unlike the base game which only allows a maximum of 2.
- Dying during a boss battle turns you into a spectating mod. You can watch the fight until everyone in the party has been defeated, or a player rests at a site of grace. To change between various spectator perspectives, you can utilize the arrow keys on your keyboard.
- If your player dies, they will be affected by a stackable debuff called rot (similar to the Sekiro mechanic). With each subsequent death, the amount of rot will increase. The only way to remove rot is by sitting at a Site of Grace. When a player dies, one of the five types of rot will be randomly chosen. This system was put in place to prevent a scenario where one player repeatedly dies with no repercussions, while another player remains alive to prevent enemy respawn.
We have spent hours playing this mod and it’s safe to say that it ranks number one on our list (that is why it has a separate article only for itself) and we highly recommend that you try it. Have fun with your coop Lands Between adventures, Tarnished.
Wrapping up
So, there you have it – a buffet of Elden Ring mods that’s bound to keep you entertained until Miyazaki decides to bless us with more official content (or until you finally go outside, but who’s counting?).
Honestly, if none of these Elden Ring mods tickle your fancy, I don’t know what will. Maybe play Bloodborne again? Anyway, grab some mods, get back into the Lands Between, and let’s keep the cycle of dying horribly to the same boss at least somewhat interesting. Cheers!
